O produtor utiliza uma extrusora maci\u00e7a com uma matriz de 4 p\u00e9s de di\u00e2metro que pode produzir material suficiente para encher um vag\u00e3o inteiro em menos de uma hora quando operando em plena capacidade. Por causa disso, o tempo de inatividade \u00e9 extremamente caro para a empresa e eles apontaram seus trocadores de tela antigos como um dos principais alvos que causavam o tempo de inatividade.<\/p><p>As mudan\u00e7as nas condi\u00e7\u00f5es do mercado resultaram na demanda por materiais virgens filtrados para n\u00edveis mais altos de pureza. Onde antes, as telas de 20 mesh eram a norma, agora os filtros de 100 mesh est\u00e3o se tornando mais comuns. O principal benef\u00edcio para o mercado de processadores secund\u00e1rios, como extrusoras de produtos de embalagem, \u00e9 minimizar a frequ\u00eancia de trocas de tela e n\u00e3o comprometer a produ\u00e7\u00e3o. No entanto, executar n\u00edveis de filtragem mais altos no n\u00edvel de processamento prim\u00e1rio tem seus pr\u00f3prios custos de produ\u00e7\u00e3o. As taxas de sa\u00edda s\u00e3o reduzidas 5%-10% para compensar o aumento na contrapress\u00e3o causado pela malha de tela mais fina. Al\u00e9m disso, telas mais finas ret\u00eam mais impurezas, mas n\u00e3o duram tanto. Em uma linha de reator, a vida \u00fatil da tela pode cair para uma quest\u00e3o de dias e talvez at\u00e9 uma semana antes que a linha de extrus\u00e3o seja interrompida. O aumento da frequ\u00eancia de paradas custa a produ\u00e7\u00e3o nessas grandes linhas e tamb\u00e9m aumenta o risco real de que a linha n\u00e3o seja iniciada a tempo de evitar o desligamento de um reator.<\/p><p>O projeto do trocador de tela na m\u00e1quina antiga do fornecedor apresentava problemas significativos. O processo envolveu a peletiza\u00e7\u00e3o de pol\u00edmero virgem em uma linha alimentada por reator. Periodicamente, a linha precisava ser desligada para trocar os filtros. Enquanto o reator est\u00e1 ocioso para a troca, a sa\u00edda minimizada \u00e9 coletada nos vasos receptores. Esses vasos t\u00eam uma capacidade finita, o que exige a troca da tela e a reinicializa\u00e7\u00e3o da m\u00e1quina antes de encher. Se isso n\u00e3o for feito a tempo, o reator precisa ser desligado, o que pode custar dias de inatividade para limpeza, potencialmente custando ao operador de $500.000 a $1 milh\u00e3o de d\u00f3lares.<\/p><p>Vendo o projeto do troca-telas existente como o problema, este produtor de materiais decidiu procurar novos fornecedores de troca-telas para ajudar a melhorar seu processo. O produtor abordou a PSI-Polymer Systems e dois grandes fornecedores europeus de troca de telas pedindo que eles primeiro calculassem quanta \u00e1rea de filtro seria necess\u00e1ria para atender a uma taxa de produ\u00e7\u00e3o e press\u00e3o delta especificadas enquanto filtrava atrav\u00e9s de telas de 100 mesh e, segundo, para fornecer o equipamento.<\/p><p>Um dos fornecedores europeus oferecia equipamentos com menos \u00e1rea filtrante do que estava atualmente em opera\u00e7\u00e3o; o outro oferecia uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o em que o processador seria obrigado a realizar uma grande expans\u00e3o do edif\u00edcio para se adequar ao trocador de tela recomendado. A PSI sozinha abordou o problema com uma folha de papel em branco e determinou que, enquanto o trocador de tela existente oferecia 670 em<sup>2<\/sup> de \u00e1rea de filtro online, na verdade 2.800 em<sup>2<\/sup> era necess\u00e1rio para atingir o objetivo.<\/p><p>A PSI determinou que quatro (4) posi\u00e7\u00f5es de filtro on-line utilizando filtros de tubo de \u00e1rea estendida seriam a abordagem mais eficiente do processo e n\u00e3o exigiriam modifica\u00e7\u00f5es f\u00edsicas na planta al\u00e9m do reposicionamento do grande peletizador subaqu\u00e1tico. O trocador de tela forneceria \u00e0 planta os meios para operar em modo cont\u00ednuo, trocando as telas sem interromper a produ\u00e7\u00e3o e operaria as telas de malha mais altas dentro da janela de press\u00e3o necess\u00e1ria. Al\u00e9m disso, o projeto PSI eliminaria toda a inclus\u00e3o de ar na troca de tela, proporcionando o benef\u00edcio adicional de reduzir pellets e refugos fora das especifica\u00e7\u00f5es gerados pelo ar que passa pela placa da matriz durante a troca de tela. O projeto avan\u00e7ou e a PSI e o comprador trabalharam juntos, realizando an\u00e1lises de CFD (computational fluid dynamics) at\u00e9 chegar ao projeto ideal.\u00a0<\/p><p><u>Filtra\u00e7\u00e3o aumentada = Produ\u00e7\u00e3o de material aumentada<\/u><\/p><p>O novo trocador de tela PSI EAC cont\u00e9m quatro bolsos ovais maci\u00e7os, cada um com 10&quot; de altura x 14&quot; de largura. Empregando o design desejado de \u201cfiltro de vela\u201d, a nova m\u00e1quina tem 700 polegadas quadradas de \u00e1rea de filtro por posi\u00e7\u00e3o, um grande aumento que permite maior volume e filtragem de maior qualidade, al\u00e9m de menos tempo de inatividade. Os trocadores de tela s\u00e3o controlados por PLC 100% e funcionam automaticamente, exigindo muito pouca interven\u00e7\u00e3o do operador.<\/p><p>Esse cliente em particular teve a m\u00e1 experi\u00eancia de seguir a recomenda\u00e7\u00e3o do fabricante do trocador de tela antigo de que eles trocassem de lugar na hora. Quando a placa deslizante n\u00e3o conseguiu completar o deslocamento, o derramamento de pol\u00edmero resultante foi catastr\u00f3fico. Como tal, os operadores estavam relutantes em seguir as instru\u00e7\u00f5es da PSI para trocar os filtros sem uma linha desligada, optando por maximizar o tempo de execu\u00e7\u00e3o e trocar todos os filtros de uma vez. Depois de ganhar confian\u00e7a com a opera\u00e7\u00e3o do EAC Screen Changer da PSI, a planta com o gerente de engenharia da PSI \u00e0 m\u00e3o, fez a tentativa. O sucesso seguiu o sucesso e hoje n\u00e3o s\u00e3o necess\u00e1rios desligamentos de linha para mudan\u00e7as de tela nesta linha. As taxas de produ\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o apenas aumentaram para o n\u00edvel de filtragem desejado, mas o rendimento geral melhorou de forma mensur\u00e1vel, eliminando paradas peri\u00f3dicas da linha.
